2013

2013
Happy, happy, happy new year dear Friends!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holidays and rung in the new year with style.  Despite the (self-inflicted) madness, I had quite the lovely holidays...completely filled with delicious food (I had my first turducken!), wonderful friends, love, laughter, good times, and all shared with 2 of my most favourite males in my life: Brett and the Munchkin!  I even had a few unexpected surprises involving good friends coming to the island for a visit.

And now it's 2013.  A new year.  A new start.  Sadly I'm having an awfully hard time getting back to the regularly scheduled programming that's otherwise known as every day life.  Anyone else feeling the same way, or is it just me?  It was so nice to have Brett home for more than 2 days at a time, the chance to sleep in, and to just slow down a bit and enjoy some quality family time.  I practically went MIA from the blog for most of December (and the majority of the posts were for Project 365!), and went for days without posting a single tweet or Instagram photo, and sometimes was only able to check into Facebook once or twice a day.  But now that the craziness that is the holidays is over, I can finally dedicate more time to the blog.  And I sincerely promise that I'll be posting a lot more this month.  So much so that you'll probably get sick of me!  I hope not though!!

I'm hoping to spend the next few days catching up on blogs (I missed a lot by not reading my usual blogs on a daily basis!), returning emails, getting my knitting organized, doing some selfish knitting (ooohhh yeah!), writing lists, and doing a lot of planning (or else this mama needs to find a job).  Luckily Brett and I power-cleaned yesterday and managed to pack up the Christmas tree and all the decorations, fired off load after load (after load) of laundry, and got the house back to a somewhat "normal" state.  What better way to start a new year than with a clean house?  I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this means the house will be clean for the rest of the year.  Or is that asking for too much?  I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

In the meantime, I'm going to go make some tea and do some much needed selfish knitting.  Oh, and try to convince myself that it is in fact mid-week and not the weekend.  Even though the past few days have all felt like a neverending Sunday!

♥ Happy 2013!! ♥
