Can't Talk...

Hexipuffs Collage

...I'm knitting!

The long weekend was quite sticky hot and so not much knitting took place.  I did work on my Domestic Badass socks for a bit (more on that later) and I did manage to churn out at least 3 hexipuffs per day.  Although yesterday I went a little hardcore and whipped up 9 of those bad boys despite the heat and the fact that my hands were sweating up a storm.  I'm slowly making a small dent in my minis stash and it has been fun to knit with yarns that I've never knit with before.  I've also been very slowly using up some of my leftovers from previous projects.  To see all my little scraps that I don't have the heart to throw out being used up for a much bigger project warms my heart.  And makes me feel better in knowing that some space is s l o w l y being freed up!

Like I said, I didn't get as much knitting accomplished over the long weekend like I had hoped I would.  Actually, not much was accomplished period.  The weekend was the total definition of "lazy days of summer".  I'm hoping my motivation will pick up this week.  A favourite moment of the weekend:  chilling out with some of the ladies from my knitting group on the lawns of The Empress during the Victoria Symphony Splash.  I've lived on the island for almost 5 years and not once have I been to this event!  It was so much fun!  I seriously cannot wait to do it again next summer!

Symphony Knitting

Nothing beats knitting on a beautiful summer day (under the shade of a tree, of course!) whilst sitting on blankets on the gorgeous, lush green lawns of the oldest hotel in the city, while surrounded by the most picturesque background possible - Victoria's inner harbour.  All while listening to some beautiful symphony music!   Ahhh...summer...

Anyhoo, I'm gonna jet.  My needles are calling my name...and there are hexipuffs that need to be knitted up!

♥ Happy summer knitting! ♥

  1. Cute little hexipuffs! How many do you have to make to have a full blanket?

    1. Thanks Kat! :)

It really depends on how big you want your blanket and how big your hexipuffs are. I want a blanket that will fit a king size bed with some overhang, and discovered that I will need approximately 903 puffs!! Although, ask me again in a few months...the king size might turn into a twin. And even then it could change to a simple lap quilt! ;)

    1. I'm pretty excited too! But then I realized I'm no where even near my goal of how many puffs I need! :/ But that's ok, I'm actually really enjoying knitting the same thing over and over! Yay!!

    1. You're not procrastinating! Like most knitters, you just have way too many other gorgeous knits to make first! At least, that's what I tell myself when I don't start something that I've had queued for what seems like forever! :)
