Lady bug, Lady bug, fly away home...
Not the shot that I was looking for, but I think it's not bad considering that I didn't use a macro lens. We have these weird trees next to our place and really have no idea what these round "fruit" things are, but while Brett and the Munchkin were washing the truck I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of the weird looking orbs and spotted Miss Lady Bug.

Day 112 :: June 23, 2012
The Mason jar obsession continues...
My friend Wendy mentioned at knit night about using a Mason jar to make those flowering teas. I just so happened to have such tea in my cupboard (Brett bought it for me for our anniversary) but never made it since I don't have a glass teapot to display the flower in. When Wendy mentioned using the Mason jar, a lightbulb lit up in my head! Too bad the tea didn't taste so great, but I plan on keeping the flower in the jar for another few days.
That looks like it could be a Lychee tree. do the fruits turn red when they're bigger?
ReplyDeleteSuper fabulous photos, as always! Munchkin's mug looks so cute, could you tell me more about it? (I may have a weakness for mugs with things printed inside...)
It totally looks like it could be a Lychee tree! The fruits do turn red when they're bigger but they never harden. They stay quite soft (and smear/stick to the bottom of your shoe!) the entire time and they don't have a pit. Maybe they're a cousin of the Lychee?
DeleteThanks for the lovely compliment! :) I bought that mug from Starbucks during the 2010 Christmas promotion. I'm a sucker for mugs with things printed inside too! The mug actually says "One day a squirrel went out looking for acorns and found a friend".
I totally thought lychee too! If it is, I will be stalking your neighbourhood to see when they will be ripe. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha...I think they might be from the family of lychees, but definitely not the ones you're thinking of...cause seriously, I would know and would have devoured that tree loooong ago! ;)
