Project 365 :: Week 9

Day 57 - April 29, 2012
Day 57 :: April 29, 2012
Back at the beach...the Munchkin, Brett, and I took a hike along the beach at Dallas Road...climbing the boulders and logs.  I love how every time we go back to the beach the logs are always arranged differently.  Thank you Mother Earth for keeping out "playground" so interesting!

Day 58 - April 30, 2012
Day 58 :: April 30, 2012
A random sign that I spotted whilst walking along Menzies Street.  I walk along here on a daily basis and never saw this sign.  But then again, I'm usually on the other side.

Day 59 - May 1, 2012
Day 59 :: May 1, 2012

Day 60 - May 2, 2012
Day 60 :: May 2, 2012
The Parliament building...the Munchkin and I decided to take a breather on the lawn and enjoy the view of the harbour whilst the bell tower rang.  As I looked around, I saw the usual goings on at the harbour, spotted some beautiful trees, admired the Empress, and people watched.  The day was overcast but it wasn't cold.  The moment made me remember just how beautiful Victoria is.

Day 61 - May 3, 2012
Day 61 :: May 3, 2012
Craigdarroch Castle.  Victoria's very own castle.  In my old neighbourhood I would just have to look up the street and would see the tops of the castle peeking out above all the houses.  Little Women was filmed there.

Day 62 - May 4, 2012
Day 62 :: May 4, 2012
Taken with my iPhone.  I forget which app I had used for the effect.
Ok, not really a Victoria attraction, but I couldn't help but include this photo.  For those who know me, know that I have a thing about zombies.  So I was extremely delighted to see this on the side of someone's SUV.  I've seen stickers like this on the back of a few trucks in Victoria, and for some reason, it makes me feel safe.  Stupid and weird, yes.  I'll admit that I can be odd as fish.

Day 63 - May 5, 2012
Day 63 :: May 5, 2012
Taken with my iPhone, using an app to "miniaturize".
After a week of meh weather, we finally made it out to the beach again.

Last week's collection of photos turned out to have a Victoria theme to it.  Not intentional, but very cool.  I think everyone should take the time to be a tourist in their own town once in a while.  It's amazing what you can see and discover.  Brett's schedule was hectic (again!) this week, and the weather wasn't playing nice either.  Hopefully the weather will change for the better this week!

I also have to include this photo, which was taken on Day 59....

May 2, 2012

The Munchkin insisted that I had to put this on the blog.  He's a huge Super Mario Bros. fan (Luigi is his favourite between the two though) and so we spent the day photo-bombing with his stuffed Mario and Luigi dolls.  I'll admit, that was loads of fun.  And the joy and the HUGE smile that spreads across his face whenever he sees the photos of Mario and Luigi at various places around downtown Victoria is priceless!
