Project 365 :: Week 2

Day 8 - March 11, 2012
Day 8 :: March 11, 2012 ::
In this household, coffee consumption always goes up whenever it's Roll Up The Rim time!

Day 9 - March 12, 2012
Day 9 :: March 12, 2012 ::
Aiming for a subtle HDR effect

Day 10 - March 13, 2012
Day 10 :: March 13, 2012 ::
A while ago Brett blew the Munchkin's mind when he started drawing on the fogged up windows of the truck.  Since then, whenever the Munchkin sees a fogged up window he gets overly excited and just has to draw on it.  I'm extremely pleased with how this photo turned out.  It was exactly what I was hoping it achieve in terms of mood: ethereal day dreamy

Munchkin naturel.  Aka: sans any Photoshop effects

Day 13 - March 16, 2012
Day 13 :: March 16, 2012 ::
While heading back to the ferry terminal from Fibres West we got stuck in highway traffic.  It was raining yet sunny.  We saw a rainbow and it started to get brighter and brighter as the traffic went slower and slower.  At one point there was even a double rainbow!  As I was admiring the rainbow and cursing traffic, I saw the Canada Post truck at the end of the rainbow.  I just HAD to snap this photo!  I don't expect anyone to understand the meaning of this photo other than Brett, but basically to me the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is actually a Canada Post truck full of packages of yarn...for me!

Day 14 - March 17, 2012
Day 14 :: March 17, 2012 ::
Clover Point.  We had a rare treat in that we got to spend quality beach time with Dad...on a Saturday!  So we did what the Munchkin loves the most - throwing rocks into the water and just being on the beach...he didn't even care the that tide was receding from the beach.  You can't tell, but he was wearing a little backpack full of buckets and scoops for special rocks.  So adorable!

Going through my photos this week, I noticed that I have a thing for taking photos of my feet.  Or other people's feet.  Ok, more specifically, shoes.  I hate feet.  They gross me out.  Except for the Munchkin's feet.  I love them.  Until they start looking like...well, feet.  That doesn't make sense, I know.  But baby and little toddler feet are completely adorable and don't bother me, it's when they start to look used and gnarly then it's....ew.

It was such a beautiful day yesterday (although extremely cold and windy on the beach!) that I couldn't stop snapping away with the camera.  Since it was so bright and the colours around me were constantly changing depending on where I stood, how many clouds were in front of the sun, and all those other little factors, I had to fiddle and adjust my camera settings often.  I actually had a hard time picking just one photo for day 14.  Here's two shots that I absolutely love:

Clover Point

Hee hee...the crab makes me giggle, with it's beady little eyes and Brett's imitation of the two crabs in Finding Nemo ("hey, hey, hey") playing in my head.  Brett and the Munchkin had a lot of fun turning over rocks to find tiny little crabs scurrying about.  Brett picked up a few and a reluctant Munchkin would hold it in his little hand and squeal with joy.  The crab above though, we were surprised to find that big boy under one of the rocks.  He was a feisty little fella.

I'm hoping that as the weather gets nicer and better (and hopefully warmer!) I'll have a better variety of photo opportunities.  I think this week I'll make the attempt to try a few portrait shots.
